Licht himmel
The music on this CD is a stereo mix of the 14-channel composition for the sound-light installation 'Licht Himmel' at the Gasometer Oberhausen, inaugurated in March 2006. The work comprises 212 special LED lights, following the architectural lines of the 100 m high building. The sound is transmitted by two speaker circles, one at the bottom and one at the top. Light and sound transform the huge gas tank into a space of contemplation and magic. Trautonium, glass harmonica, tibetan metal bowls, vo…

Sous les etoiles
We are proud to release - four years after his first longplayer on Canadian imprint 'Manufracture' - Kiko C. Esseiva's second album 'Sous les étoiles'. The electro-acoustic-musique conrète compositions he has constructed during the past years are brilliant soundpieces that remind sometimes on Luc Ferraris electro-acoustic works but also the very narrative nature of some older Nurse With Wound albums. The way he mixes (almost) melodic elements into a complex structure of well arranged sounds and …
Tripping India
Consisting of 3 compositions, Tripping India is the 3rd If, Bwana release on Pogus. On this recording If, Bwana is joined by, among others, Paul Marotta (Styrenes/Electric Eels/Mirrors) on 3 Out of 4 Ain't Bad, a conceptual work for 3 different pianists, playing 3 different pianos at 3 different times to the same tape. The final version is for 3 pianists, no tape. PR-DR is an electroacoustic work for processed/manipulated percussion. The title piece combines audio "snapshots" of a wandering thro…
Biotop
LP version. Comes on 180 gram vinyl. In retrospect, we might suspect that Asmus Tietchens was deliberately leading us up the garden path with the discordant pseudo-pop of his early musical productions. Four albums between 1981-1983 and a handful of individual pieces comprise the \"Zeitzeichen\" (time signal) phase which, in the words of their creator, was characterized by the implementation of \"rhythmic-harmonic set pieces and gaudy record sleeves.\" These albums do indeed feature elements…
Uncrossing / Ice Mole
Mamiffer’s "Uncrossing" differs from their contribution on the split LP with Oakeater, focusing more on subtle textures and sparse, plaintive piano.  The quiet background slowly becomes deeper and more cavernous, reverberating everything around it before dropping to silence, disrupted by a deep, echoing gunshot-like drum beat. Soon the track builds again, bringing in a massive organ drone and a huge wall of scraping and grinding sounds over the disquieting rhythm.  While the track on the Oakeate…
No New Age
Kapital is an encounter of two artists that usually penetrate different musical genres and ideas. It is an encounter of two musical worlds: psychoactive electro-acoustic music generated with electronic instruments and found objects and extreme psychedelia based on the sounds of processed guitar. Zio?ek and Iwan'ski worked together for the first time during recording sessions of improvisational group Innercity Ensemble formed in 2011. In August of 2013 they recorded in Bory Tucholskie their debut…
Ett
Klara Lewis' debut release presents an electronically-charged reconstruction of organic sound matter. Ten tracks featuring a wide variety of sonic material which is subjected to Lewis' unique approach to the sonic landscape. Field recordings, small sounds, samples, ambient pot holes, repetition, and giddy disorientation are all tactics deployed by Lewis. On entering these works we take a voyage through a series of audacious audio adventures, playful musical miniatures and choppy sonic sea…
Words
Michael Horwoods audio work during his academic period at the University of Buffalo comes from one of the most optimistic periods in American 20th century avant-garde music. The mere spill over of interest in composition from the New York City schools brought state of the art facilities and faculty to UB in 1968 Incidentally new professors Lejarin Hiller, Lukas Foss and poet Robert Creeley were key in developing students keenness into radical new music. In early 1968, Michael obtained permission…
Fiume Nero
Donato Epiro is a young Italian composer. Between 2009 and 2010 He published his compositions on limited CD-Rs and cassettes; finally a selection of these tracks have been put togheter into “Fiume Nero”, his first LP. Intuitions that animate the substance of his other project, the duo organ+percussions Cannibal Movie, have been here explored at a deeper level of investigation, creating a sort of modern library music. “Fiume Nero” brings together many influeces building a perfect bridge be…
Coercion
Hot on the heels of that ace John Lacey/COUM Transmissions release, Andrew Hargreaves returns to his Other Ideas label for a bleak, No(rthern) Industrial battery under his Beppu alias. Beppu releases in the past have been largely confined to limited CD runs that have mostly all sold out on the day of release - but this edition is the first in a proposed trilogy of albums, and the first material Hargreaves has released on vinyl under this alias. 'Coercion' was conceived whilst reading Stanley Mil…
Raven Yr Own Worl
Ralph Cumbers' Bass Clef debuts on PAN with four pieces of fluent modular acid. The most substantial dancefloor drop on a tour of duty which has seen him release on Public Information, Punch Drunk, Alter, and Mordant Music (as Some Truths) in the past 6 months or so, his 'Raven Yr Own Worl' EP carves a dead English dance sound from his favoured Bug Brand modular system, made by Tom Bug of Bristol. For want of a more concise phrase, it's a Radiophonic Dub Rave style, coming off like the eager off…
Music for stocking top, swing and staircase
'Music for Stocking Top, Swing and Staircase' is a spellbinding archival discovery documenting a performance by one of the missing links in experimental electronic and prototypical industrial music. John Lacey is one of the background players in British electronic music and conceptual performance art. He was an early collaborator with Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti and a crucial member of COUM Transmissions alongside Throbbing Gristle's Genesis P-Orridge. Lacey contributed technical directio…

Seed
If previous releases for Nihilist, Arbor and his own Catholic Tapes established Chicago\'s Brett Naucke as one of the more accomplished practitioners in the American synth underground, Seed, his debut LP for Spectrum Spools, is a veritable career apex, brimming with sonic ingenuity, detail, and mastery over both instrument and musical form. It is hard to fathom due to the sheer diversity of sound and affectations of the eight individual pieces on the album, but Seed was recorded -- almost im…
