"Messrs. Corsano and Dorji are both familiar names in the Feeding Tube discography. Chris has played drums on eight FTR LPs (and recorded two other), and Tashi has played guitar on six (details upon request if you are lazy.) But this is the first time they have appeared on vinyl as a duo, and we are damn proud to have them. Over the past years Chris has recorded with a lot of the era's best guitarists -- Bill Nace, Ben Chasny, Thurston Moore, Nels Cline, David Vanzan, Bill Orcutt, Rick Bishop, G…
*300 copies limited edition* New 12-track Blod album recorded spring 2025, and the first one since Livets Ord from 2018 to be recorded entirely in a studio, this time at Omnivox Studio in Borlänge. Förlorarnas Natt is an all instrumental album and Gustafs intention was to make a soundtrack-style album with a strong cinematic feel. Even though there is no existing movie, yet, the story takes you through a Friday night in the life of a young person and the first meetings with the adult world. Naïv…
Formed in 1967 in Detroit, the band Mystic Siva consisted of four teenagers - none older than fifteen - who released a single self-titled album, recorded in a single day in 1970 at the band's self-managed V.O. Studios. The lineup consisted of Dave Mascarin on drums, lead vocals, the original composer, and creator of the album cover; Al Tozzi on guitar, who co-wrote five of the eleven tracks with Mascarin; Marc Heckert on B-3, organ, and vocals; Art Thienel on bass and vocals.
Musically, YaHoWa13 go it on their own, with Octavius, Sunflower, Djinn, and Rhythm collaborating with Electron, who supplies powerful lead vocals. What's here is a collection of powerful rock songs that will echo in your consciousness, like the opening track, 'Edge of a Dream,' and the refrain 'I want to see/What's going on.' The guttural nature of Electron's vocal sound may recall the name of Beefheart to some, and Electron is occupying the same unconsciousness, free in the communal slipstream…
Ten arrangements, dialogues, compositions. Direct, diverse, dating you quietly, never naming the act. They arrive on tape, twisted sided. Shaped by Belgian drummer and sonic wanderer Karen Willems. A mover between scenes. Breaker of frames. Restless in sound. She likes to step into that space, where you can push, strike, remain in motion. Where curiosity earns its name by never staying the same. “Fancy cannot cheat” is title for her latest beat. There is ambient breath. There is classic stretche…
On Balladyna, Tomasz Stanko leads Tomasz Szukalski, Dave Holland and Edward Vesala through seven originals that weld lyrical, Slavic melancholy to volcanic free‑jazz undercurrents, forging a 1970s European classic that still feels startlingly alive.
Electronic lullabies and folk songs from Ethiopia! A landmark recording from Ethiopia’s vibrant cassette era of the 1980s, Resonance of Time features pioneering composer Wesenyeleh Mebreku reimagining Ethiopian folk melodies through the humble circuitry of an early Casiotone keyboard. Historically, the works featured on Resonance of Time (የጊዜ ቃና Yegizie Kana) stand as quiet documents of Ethiopian musical memory. Many of the original songs included in this release emerged during important moments…
"Musica Mosaica undertakes an experimental exploration of sounds, viewed not merely as simple acoustic phenomena, but as truly living realities. From this perspective, experimentation is by no means a convenient metaphor used to illustrate an intuitive or informal approach. On the contrary, it is meant literally — deliberate, almost scientific: each musical piece becomes a small laboratory where sounds are observed as animated entities, with their own morphology, with impulses that bring them cl…
At a time when the Japanese jazz scene was rapidly maturing and one accomplished musician after another was emerging, another saxophonist worthy of new attention joined the scene: Masafumi Yamaguchi. This work, his memorable first album as a leader, now makes its long-awaited first appearance as part of the seventh installment of "Spin This Now!"
A refined jazz work by Hiromasa Suzuki. Featuring Nobuyoshi Ino on bass and the accomplished Steve Jackson on drums, this album unfolds through interplay that is tightly knit yet relaxed throughout, and now makes its long-awaited first appearance as part of the seventh installment of "Spin This Now!"
Following the great response to the previous release "Flash Up," a live recording from Shinjuku Pit Inn in March 1977, this new work composed by Takeo Moriyama was recorded about a year later. The second release left by the Takeo Moriyama Group on Teichiku now finally makes its debut as part of the seventh installment of "Spin This Now!"
*100 copies limited edition* Utisetur I is the sixth album by Canadian ritual project Undirheimar. Marking the beginning of an ambitious trilogy, this new work delves deeper than ever into the project’s uncompromising spiritual and sonic vision. Utisetur I unfolds as a six-part ritual chant rooted in the ancient meditative practice of Utiseta. Stripping away all instrumentation, Undirheimar constructs the entire album exclusively from layered overtone singing, creating a dense, immersive field o…
*200 copies limited edition* My Garden marks the culmination of a long and meticulous creative process. Over the course of many months, Hugo Champion has carefully shaped and refined each sonic element, cultivating a deeply immersive body of work that stands among his most accomplished to date.
Rooted in a lush and evocative ambient aesthetic, the album will resonate instantly with longtime followers of Cyclic Law, while remaining highly accessible to new listeners. Subtle yet insistent, these r…
*200 copies limited edition* “Ypnos”, the Greek word for sleep, is reinterpreted here as something far more introspective and unsettling. Within the context of this release, it evokes a state of emotional isolation and spiritual withdrawal, a descent shaped by trauma. Rather than presenting trauma in a literal or narrative form, Fractalyst translates it into a kind of aural poetry, abstract yet deeply resonant. The album avoids fixation or glorification of suffering. Instead, it unfolds as a gra…
Sam Andreae, Li Song, and Rory Salter are UK based artists. All of them perform and present their works in a minimalist style, and they are all noteworthy figures among current artists who take an experimental approach. As the title suggests, this work consists of four performances using three melodicas. Silence and sustained sounds produced by the instruments appear and disappear, creating single notes and harmonics. They are performances of intense concentration, and at the same time, it is a …
French artist The Dead Mauriacs (Olivier Prieur) has been releasing many works based on a collage style. This album is the second release on zappak. "Un Théâtre aux yeux clos / A Theater with closed eyes" is based on a quite minimal collage style. There are some spaces like silence, and subtle electro-acoustic sounds are placed quite carefully. They sometimes whisper and other times roar. In between 45 minutes the curtain falls and rises, you might see a play that you have never experienced befo…
It happens very rarely that you can praise a records without any reservations, this is the case here!!! A lot of ink has flowed across the page since the Vogue/Swing release (1955) of that founding solo record. The repertoire was made up of pieces that Thelonious was playing in New York over that period, but in trio or with a quartet, here his music shows nakedness, i should say crudeness, whisch is completely overwhelming. It is a balck and white photograph of what is happening inside Monk's he…
Art Blakey was the new hero on the Paris jazz scene, thanks to his Olympia concert on November 22nd 1958, and his subsequent appearances at the Club St. Germain. People swore by his 'Blues March' and 'Moanin', so why not get him to do the soundtrack for the film Molinaro just finished? The only problem, albeit a major one, was that time was short, so an original score was out of the question: the Jazz Messengers would have to preach the good word by other means. Fortunately, the band's tenor and…
On Malarial Dream, Alvarius B. drifts out of Cairo with a fevered, mostly instrumental songbook that bends late‑period Sun City Girls melancholy through Middle Eastern modes, psych‑warped folk and the quiet volatility of a hand‑picked Cairo/avant‑jazz ensemble.
Recorded at the infamous Spahn Ranch in 1970, while their leader Charles Manson was facing trial for the murder of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, The Manson Family Sings is a highly disconcerting listen. Beneath the harmonic brilliance and folksy innocence of these campfire-styled recordings are the hallmarks of Manson’s twisted worldview, rendering a dystopian edge to what is otherwise compelling singalongs. Squeaky Frome, Brenda Gold, Gypsy Share and Sandra Blue all feature, with Clem Grogan fron…
