Choi Taehyun and Park Daham first started playing as a duo on May 14, 2013, and have been performing as a duo occasionally. Park Daham, remembering that it was their last concert in Taiwan in 2019, accidentally suggested that we try recording again, and in March 2022, the duo recorded in Taehyun Choi's practice room. I wish all my Taiwanese friends well.
Liverpool producer Paul Rafferty aka Ancient Plastix is back with 'II' an album that glides effortlessly, combining incredibly rich textures with soft swan-like strokes, oscillating gently, an unhurried pace that combines the depth of Japanese ambient maestros and the choppy British mist. Recorded to tape on a Japanese Sansui machine, there is a widescreen grandeur that permeates Ancient Plastix’ production, a cinematic instinct that steers clear of crescendos by creating paths that revel in war…
Gijs Gieskes’ creations bridge the divide between innovative modules in Eurorack format and stand-alone art-gallery installations. Fuelled by barely tamed electricity and informed by a high-tech junk yard aesthetic, they seem to possess a life of their own, like a new breed of insect androids. Some of them are electro-mechanical-acoustic and some are purely electronic. In action, they exude the kind of clumsy and lonely autonomous machine helplessness you get from a Survival Research Laboratorie…
*Limited edition of 200 copies.* ELP collects the music composed and performed by Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo for a series of choreographic actions by choreographer / dancer Paola Bianchi. Those actions are part of the articulated choreography research project ELP (Ethos, Logos, Pathos) in which choreography deepens its study of the body and the relationships between bodies and the cultural images upon which bodies are represented. The project studies the relationship between the descriptive word …

Far, more than you can see.Satan is my brother brings to life a powerful and convoluted album summoning the band’s origins and venturing in an eve…

*50 copies limited edition* September 2019, during a residency exchange programme curated by the Lijiang Studio, Chunyang Yao set foot in Shiraoi, a town in Hokkaido historically populated by Japan’s indigenous people, the Ainu. A peculiar sense of inversion struck her. Being a Naxi artist emerging from the southwestern city of Lijiang, Yao had become accustomed to performing under a certain exotic gaze in China. Yet, dipping into the arcane, almost bygone lifeworld of the Ainu, for the first ti…
"We must show social conditions, not just songs." a wise music ethnologist once said. But how to transport environments into song sonics? The enigmatic duo Greymouth found a creative answer and sent their conceptions to Berlin Neukölln, right at the steps of the bustling Kashual Plastik office, where an unclear corpus of operative's fashion new sounding crypto currencies 24/7. Four tranquilized speed ballads waxed on 7inch vinyl, carrying drunken melodies, kraut-intoxicated grooves, and outlandi…
Ben Glas (b. 1992) is an experiential composer based in Berlin. Through ephemeral compositions Glas' work questions preconceived notions between the acts of passive hearing and active listening. In seeking to discover open ended forms of music and pragmatic listening perspectives, Glas' compositions focus on the realms of subjective perception and cognition, via the use of acoustics, psychoacoustics and space as tools for sonic composition. His work has been exhibited and performed internationall…
* Edition of 70 copies. In process of stocking * Serbian dystopian bedroom psychedelia from the one man band Alek Novak that fits these gnarly times very well. Poetic lyrics (so i've been told, I don't speak Serbian) over a psychedelic rock/noise sauce makes perfect listening while walking through shady corners of Belgrade, tasting the last drops of your bottle rakia.
* Edition of 70 copies. In process of stocking * Gintas K, once part of the first Lithuanian industrial band Modus but since over two decades he dedicates himself to electronic music, more specific granular synths and live electronics where he takes fractions of notes and moulds the sounds through speeding/slowing down and other obscure alchemical processes into new abstract configurations of space debris with remnants of drones, hums and bleeps.
* Edition of 200 * Valerie Smith (who's in fact a hairy man from Paris) presents "We're Depressed". An album - dedicated to Mark Beyer - of intense, drugged and psychotic noise / techno that honors the emotional bleakness and naive beauty of Beyer's world of depression and degradation.
This new LP by Hendrik Hegray's Valerie Smith project celebrates his visual and auditive practices in a way that remains as vibrant as a cut out Matisse piece which a loud wind blew out of the window into the dust…
*Edition of 300* Exposition of Clove is the new fast electro-acoustic album by the duo of Matteo Castro and Riccardo Mazza. Hailing from the farthest North-East glacial tip of Italy, Lettera 22 utilize elements of musique concrete sound sources, delicately sampled, looped and edited; resulting in 5 very subtle and rich compositions of textured noise and field recordings via analogue tapes and feedback.
Tip! A dream industrial work in which sticky corrosion electronic sounds by Amplified voice, drone sound, and electronics develop with a strange rhythm. Hiroshima-based electro/industrial duo, A.P.O.S. collaborates with SY on the electronics and Self Toxication on the amplified voice.
An excellent glimpse into one of the more poorly lit corners of Swedish experimental sound. This CD collects some of the earliest solo recordings of Joachim Nordwall, under the moniker A.B.O. Our ears catch whiffs of Francois Douris and the likes, but any definite reference eludes us.
“Growing up in the remote south East of Sweden was great for anyone into having a bad start in life. In my early teens I was exposed through my friend Zwarre to suitable music like Throbbing Gristle, Brainbombs and…
Cross-generational titans of noise and sound experiments, John Duncan, Joachim Nordwall & Henrik Ryland supply a proper drone zoner hashed from shortwave radio, no-input mixer and analogue synths on the iDEAL powerhouse.
Small repress available, last copies * Limited edition of 199 copies, Urashima’s first ever reissue of the album furthers these insights, extending the original EP with six brand-new reworks. * Japanese solo project Jun Konagaya's Grim beautiful 1987 EP Message is his first and sole full folk music release, despite having an album called Folk Music in 1986 that was a classic industrial album, featuring Yukio Nagoshi, founding member of the Vasilisk unit, on guitar and percussion and A. Takahashi…
