Ancient Future
Ancient Future is a stop on an ongoing quest of sample creation, manipulation, recombination, and morphological transformation through the modular synthesizer. Densely interconnected sound matter moves between islands of respite in a sea of incomprehensibility, grasping but not yet arriving. The ancient future is a place. It is the meeting point between the light piercing through the dark, fragmented state of our present reality. This album is an attempt to materialize this place in sonic form.

Intimaa' (belonging in Arabic) is a documentation of pieces composed for Touch's 40th anniversary celebrations in Los Angeles and Santa Cruz in the Spring of 2022.

A lifelong expatriate, Bana Haffar was born in Saudi Arabia in 1987 and spent much of her childhood in the GCC. Having trained as a professional bass player and a classical violin player, she has now embraced electronic music fully, exploring live modular synthesizer performance.
