Circle X
Circle X formed in 1978 out of 2 punkbands, No Fun and the I-Holes. Originally located in Louisville, Kentucky, the band relocated to New York to take part in the no wave scene. A 7" called 'Heartbreaker' was released in 1979. Circle X stayed in France for a while where they recorded a 4 track 12" for Celluloid in 1980. The band went back to NY to record the classic 'Prehistory' LP which was released in 1983 on Enigma/Index.

Heartbreaker / Look At The People
Initially conceived in Louisville in 1978 from the ashes of two local punk bands by Tony Pinotti, Bruce Witsiepe (coming from No Fun) and Rik and Dave Letendre (coming from I-Holes), the band Circle X moved to New York soon after. They encountered there a young german painter, Ralph Neun, linked to the art school of Darmstadt. Prehistory
Some of you may remember Circle X's corrosive, caterwauling, and unutterably fabulous self-titled EP, which was originally released in 1979 and reissued a little over a decade ago by Jim O'Rourke's and David Grubbs' Dexter's Cigar label. Now the story picks up again with the long-overdue first CD release of Prehistory, Circle X's first full-length album.
