Eden Ahbez
Eden Ahbez (1908-1995) was an American songwriter and recording artist, born George Alexander Aberle in Brooklyn, New York. He lived an ascetic life in Los Angeles, sleeping outdoors, eating fruit, vegetables and nuts and wearing robes and sandals, and he wrote his name in lower case. He is known for writing "Nature Boy", which Nat "King" Cole took to number one in 1948, and for Eden's Island, a 1960 album of spoken poetry set to exotica arrangements.
