Embryo

Embryo is a musical collective from Munich, founded in 1969 by Christian Burchard and Edgar Hofmann and counted among the most important German jazz-rock bands of the 1970s. Their first album, Opal (1970), already had the pianist Mal Waldron as a guest, and Charlie Mariano and other jazz names passed through in the following years. Burchard kept the band going for almost fifty years with an ever changing international cast, including musicians from North Africa, India and China and many figures of the krautrock scene.
