Emmett Williams

Concrete poet, painter and performer born in Greenville, SC in 1985. He relocated to Germany in the 1950s, he worked closely with Claus Bremer and Daniel Spoerri. In 1962 he meet the Fluxus artist and remained one of the number until he died. Throughout his life, he published but a small number of books, and is generally better known for his Anthology of Concrete Poetry. He died in Berlin on February 14, 2007.
