Live 1972/1974
Bassist Uli Trepte was one of the founders of the seminal space rock Krautrock group Guru Guru, and this CD, a reissue of a United Dairies LP with the track “Bo Diddley” added, combines material from Trepte‘s tenure with Guru Guru and some studio stuff done soon after he left the band. The two Guru Guru tracks were recorded live in 1972, and the performances on these long jams, capturing the group at their height, make up for the mediocre fidelity of the recordings. This is the classic Guru Guru…
Wiesbaden 1972
*2024 stock* After Uli Trepte had left the band, Guru Guru had one of their first gigs with Bruno Schaab on bass in the assembly hall of the Germania-Heim in Wiesbaden on November 4th, 1972. They played in front of about 200 to 300 people. The whole concert was recorded expertly and in stereo, with the consent of the band and the promoter, Robert Huth, by Muck Krieger, sharing a flat with Xhol (Caravan), a band they were friends with and which had just broken up. The equipment used - an Uher tap…

Two names to conjure with collided live in Tokyo on 14th March 2019, with sprawling psychedelic masters Acid Mothers Temple coming together once more, a full decade after the release of the live album Underdogg Express in 2009, with the founder of the legendary Krautrock band Guru Guru. ‘A fiery psychedelic collaboration recorded in the spirit of early Guru Guru’ ensued. Edited neatly into four tracks – two per side of vinyl – it’s being released on limited edition vinyl for the French ‘Disquair…

Live In Wiesbaden 1972/73
In 1972 Guru Guru played the Wiesbaden Concert Hall where Neumeier, guitarist Ax Genrich and bassist Bruno Schaab (who had recently replaced Uli Trepte) let loose on one of their most classic tracks, the a 37-minute freakout “Ooga Booga”. In 1973 the discerning folks of Wiesbaden again invited Guru Guru to play, and this time the band—now featuring the formidable Hans Hartmann (arguably Guru Guru’s best in a long line of bass players)—regaled fans with tracks from their recently released …
