Heldon

Heldon is a French electronic rock band created in 1974 by the guitarist Richard Pinhas, who took the name from Norman Spinrad's novel The Iron Dream. Like its predecessor Schizo it is above all Pinhas's group, and he has released a large number of albums under his own name as well. He studied with Gilles Deleuze, whose voice appears on his records, and has worked with musicians from Magma among many collaborators. Influenced by Robert Fripp and Brian Eno, from Electronique Guerilla (1974) to Interface and Stand By (1979) Heldon combined sequencers, Moog and guitar loops into something sui generis, harder and darker than the German cosmic school, and in turn shaped the field of electronic rock.
