Elemental II
* 2021 Restock * An monumental composition for double bass played by Kasper T. Toeplitz "Elemental II is the first ever piece Eliane Radigue wrote for an instrument, without any pre-recorded sounds, without the use of her ARP synthesiser. I took a very long time to convince her to do so, the piece was some two years or more in the making - discussing about the sound a mountain makes after the rain. The first recording was released just after the premiere of the piece, in 2004. In 2011, seven yea…

**Edition of 300 copies, 180g Vinyl in Heavy Cardboard Sleeve** Music by Phill Niblock, Kasper T.Toeplitz & Franck Vigroux. The ensemble IRE was founded by composers Kasper T. Toeplitz and Franck Vigroux. Their aim is to take a different look at electronic music, or rather more specifically the ”electronic mind” asapplied to today’s 21st century music. Data Noise
Kasper T. Toeplitz, live electronics, generative video, lights. Myriam Gourfink, stillness. Electronic composition played live by Kasper T. Toeplitz and Myriam Gourfink. Noise and stillness. Also generative video, and the noise of circulating data. What it is not : DATA_Noise is certainly not a dance piece with musical accompaniment, using some sort of the so-called “new technology” – sensors, computers – to be more “modern”. DATA_Noise is a musical project, a composition written for synthesized…
Octopus
Harpist Hélène Breschand performs two challenging works by Eliane Radigue and Kasper T. Toeplitz with results intended for deep listening. The first sees Hélène perform Occam Ocean XVI for acoustic harp, drawing out a rich array of sonorities from a single pitch across its 27 minute duration. The first nine minutes are intensely meditative, with the effect of drawing our eyelids to half mast in the manner of best Eliane Radigue music, before that hypnagogic traction gives way to flurries of pitt…
Agitation | Stagnation
Double CD, the first one containing Zeitkratzer's instrumental interpretation of Kasper Toeplitz's electronic score from Disc 2. Though these works are intended to be heard separately, the two discs can also be played simultaneously"The idea behind the composition for the Zeitkratzer ensemble, "Agitation / Stagnation", was from the very beginning to work in the pure sonic domain, and not to give to the musicians a score written on paper (be it in traditional notation or some more fancy graphic w…
Stacja Nigdy W Zyciu
Two pieces, seemingly appearing out of the void, culminate - and fade away. It's at "Station Never in Life" ("Stacja Nigdy w Zyciu" in Polish) where Kasper T. Toeplitz and Anna Zaradny meet for their first duo LP. At the station we experience their music like giant wagon trains slowly passing by. Incredible rich textures emerge and disappear again - a permanent reconstruction, an architecture of loss. The recording features Anna Zaradny on saxophone, playing the instrument in her unique way eman…

Almasty
Solo bass played and composed by Kasper T. Toeplitz. Layers of noise full of details like the voice of dead machines !“A purely formal présentation of Almasty would point that it is a composition for solo bass – electric bass, which implies a few electric/electronic machines around the string instrument, which change or modifiy its resonances somehow, but nothing more that what is seen those days around any electric instrument. And Almasty is also a solo composition, as it is recorded and presen…

Blast Of Silence
Brand new David Maranha album, here with Gerard Lebik in a a sound performance held at Cave 211, Lisbon, January 2014 "An accumulation of resonances reinjected into an impressive granular continuum with a growing audio signal stretched to the limits of saturation. Music that leads to trance! David Maranha His work encompasses sculpture, music and architecture. In 1986 he started to develop his work as a musician both as a solo artist and with several bands and has since released more than 30 a…
Perdu - Mystery Bass - Solo Electric Bass
I don't know when this music was recorded, why it was composed, what for, when... I know it is me playing and I know it is only my bass, I know there is no other sounds (as I never use pre-recorded sounds). I found this recording on a blank CDr, at home. nothing written on - what is this? Yes, it is me, for sure and it was obviously a composed piece - the structure is quite unusual. I did not touch, edited or mixed it in any way. And not being able to remember what it was, I called it "mystery b…
