Pipeline

Pipeline is a project led by clarinettist Giancarlo Nino Locatelli, recording for the We Insist! Records label. The group works between written pieces and collective improvisation, and its line-up has ranged from a trio to an octet, with bassist Andrea Grossi and percussionist Cristiano Calcagnile as its core. The octet version, Pipeline 8, recorded Prayer (2018) with Gabriele Mitelli, Sebi Tramontana, Alberto Braida, Gianmaria Aprile and Luca Tilli. As a trio with Grossi and Calcagnile, Locatelli recorded Kakuan Suite, a set of his pieces whose titles are anagrams of one another.
