Savina Yannatou
Savina Yannatou is a Greek singer and composer, born in Athens in 1959. She studied singing in Athens and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and has worked professionally since 1979. Her music ranges from Sephardic and Mediterranean folk songs to free improvisation, with a vocal range that includes throat singing, glossolalia and ululation. She has worked for many years with the Thessaloniki group Primavera en Salonico, whose records ECM has issued since Terra Nostra.
