The Glass Orchestra

Country: Canada

The Glass Orchestra is a Toronto ensemble formed in late 1977 that plays only instruments made of glass. Its members build their own glass harmonicas, flutes and xylophones and also use found objects such as bowls, wine glasses and bottles. The group was first based at the Music Gallery and later moved to The 401, an artists' collective on Richmond Street. The founding members were Miguel Frasconi, Marvin Green, John Kuipers, V. Eric Cadesky and Paul Hodge. Later members included Jon Siddall, Richard Sacks, Michael J. Baker and Bill Parsons.
