Are You Rallizesed?
New limited-edition double CD set from long-time archival Rallizes label Ignuitas. This one features a complete Rallizes show from Shizuoka Stupa in 1974 with Mizutani feeding his guitar to the fire with outrageous Star Spangled Banner-style leads while the rest of the group lay-down some of the most brain-freezing nod-out grooves of their entire career. There’s a great slack, elegaically-stoned feel to the playing and by the end of the show the whole group are obliviously destroyed. Recommended…
Live@ Kinjou Gakuen University October 30 1976

The OZ Tapes
Ltd pressing of only 300 copies, long gone and sold out. This is the reissue of this legendary LP – with Taj Mahal Travelers, Minami Masato, Acid Seven and Hadaka no Rallizes aka Les Rallizes Denudes. Without a single doubt, this bloodsucker of a disc is one of THE holy grails of the Japanese early seventies lysergic psych scene, together with Speed Glue & Shinki, Sato Masahiko & Soundbreakers and People/Ceremony. Privately released in a tiny edition on the OZ Days label way back in 1973, the re…

Chaos Is The Cosmos
The return of C.C.C.C. to Cold Spring (after their outstanding album 'Flash' in 1996).This is also the first album from C.C.C.C. in 10 years! This cult Japanese Noise group is made up of Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro, YBO2, South Saturn Delta), Mayuko Hino, Fumio Kosakai (Hijokaidan, Incapacitants), and Ryuichi Nagakubo (Tangerine Dream Syndicate). An absolutely essential album for those with a penchant for extreme Japanoise. Just under 45 minutes of music.
Saraba Hakobune
Another rarity is this original soundtrack album to Terayama Shuji's last movie with music by JA Seazer (Tenjo Sajiki, JA Caesar). Released in 1984, it was Terayama's last completed movie and Seazer's last contribution to his visionary and reactionary world. Saraba Habobune's soundtrack is just stunningly beautiful, far removed from Seazer's trademark bombastic scores. Instead it ventures into more pastoral and almost meditative psychedelic realms filled with traditional string plucking, eerie f…
Den'en Ni Shisu
Deluxe first reissue of this 1974 J.A. Ceasar-performed theatrical underground classic. A nice example of the recent flood of late 1960's-early 1970's psych reissues from Japan that are in the more fluxus/theatrical vein. The period saw political upheaval and protesting amidst much of the country's students and youth; and while the underground movements weren't as widespread as say those in the USA, the pockets of artistic institutions that responded to political causes (like the decimation of n…
Rainbow Electronics 2
1996 release on Jim O'Rourke's old label, surprisingly repressed for 2008. First non-reissue on this label - an unreleased companion to the 1990 Alchemy label masterpiece. The designation 'Rainbow' contrasts with the odd colorlessness of the many noise records. Like Voice Crack, this is power electronics at its most detailed, most subtly varied, and most exhaustively kinetic. It doesn't stop. It's a thrill every two seconds, for seventy-five minutes... It splits into halves, quarters, and more u…
Keio Line
An incredible collaboration that sweeps across the generations of electronic music. Richard Pinhas is internationally recognized as one of France's major experimental musicians: the 'father' of French electronic music. He was the founder of Heldon, a band whose violent fusion of electronics and guitar in the 70s rivalled the German electronic school. As a guitar player he has been compared to Robert Fripp. Cited as an influence by many electronic musicians, Richard Pinhas has helped to define th…

Early works
Box set from Japanese psychedelic noise legends c.c.c.c. collecting unreleased live material, including very early recordings from some of their first shows in 1990 and their 1992 us tour, along some long unvailible studio classics like the Phantasmagoria tape. Extensive liner notes by original member Fumio Kosakai (now in Incapacitants and many others) about the band beginings and his take on the c.c.c.c. vision. An essential document in the unique c.c.c.c. sound which Kosakai describes best as …
Acqua
Their last LP, issued in 1000 copies and long deleted now; again, an awesome album, Awakening gives us ominous ethnic percussion, growing in intensity, while Photongnoul is slower, more mournful. Taksim II provides energetic, rolling, thundering drumming, and the side ends with Fangs and Claws, returning to a more relaxed sound, running water and undulating synth tones setting the very beautiful mood, breaking into a powerful rhythm at the end, closing the side perfectly. The live side opens wit…

Mkwaju
their 2nd LP, again released in 300 copies only, a beautiful album of ritualistic music, occasionally ambient, frequently pretty energetic, but always based around complex rhythmic percussion. Unlike some, none of the percussion is synthetic, and the natural sound that results is very refreshing. Ambient vocals and nice rhythmically plucked strings introduce the studio side.

Whirling Dervishes
Ultrarare 1st album, issued in 300 copies only - In 1985, after the split up of the political unit 'White Hospital', Tomo Kuwabara started up the unit Vasilisk with Yukio Nagoshi (percussions/guitars) and Chiaki (percussions). They made a first album called 'Whirling Dervishes' in 1987, released through Eskimo, which was the label established by Yun 'Grim' Konagaya. In this album they played several and unusual instruments: African skin-drums, African flute, Tibetan percussions, Ancestor's voice…

Smegma Plays Merzbow
An awesome CD resulting from mail collaboration between experimental two noise legends.
