Bagirwa Hymn
Two dense obscure messes, from one of the most sacred and funeral masters of the new mystics. A tribal funeral ode. This is great material from Burial Hex - alot more subtle and mature than his early material. Two side-long pieces of rather melodic ambient that turns more and more industrial as the pieces progress. Sometimes the changes are abrupt, sometimes more gradual, but always with nice detail. Ltd x 300 copies with a full-size insert.
Compound
The cooperative of composer/improvisers John Wiese (Sissy Spacek) and C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core) presents in a terrific session recorded in August 26, 2007 at The Compound, San Francisco. The work reveals further unexpected developments and strategies of this ongoing partnership. Familiar machineries were primed, but an increasingly alien attitude was fed through and processed into churning and bewildering shapes.
