Distare Sonanti
"The either/OAR series of and/OAR continues to take unexpected twists and turns while slowly but surely unveiling the intended perimeter of it's conceptual focus - this time a magic realism trip via the world of atmospheric avant-jazz. Distare Sonanti is the second album by the highly synergistic Di Domenico / Henriksen / Yamamoto trio whose first CD titled Clinamen was released in 2010 by the Off label based in Belgium. Now, in 2012 and/OAR is very pleased and honored to present this second mas…
Search Ensembles
Search Ensembles is a new evocative project of and/OAR founder / operator Dale Lloyd presenting “sonic archeology”, unearthing forgotten and previously unreleased recordings from project participants’ archives, plus new recordings to create a conceptually cohesive album. The name “Search Ensembles” is a play on the term “search parties” which means: “groups of people conducting an organized search for someone or something lost or hidden.” This first offering comes across as a collection of inexp…
One Hour As Trees In Finland
The second release in the new sub-series called “One Hour As...” based on Ben Green’s radio program of the same name on Resonance FM, which aired between 2002 and 2004. Recorded in 2007, this release presents exterior and interior sonic perspectives of trees being blown by wind in Alajarvi, Finland. Not only a meditation upon a very important part of the terrestrial ecosystem, but a normally hidden insight into the realm of living intelligent trees.Includes an essay written by Stefan Militzer wh…

One Hour As A Plant
All of the sounds used in this composition were produced by recording the bioelectrical field of a specimen of the Peyote cactus (Lophophora williamsii). A fascinating work that takes the listener into normally unheard realms. One Hour As A Plant was composed in 2003 for Ben Green's Resonance  FM program called "One Hour As...". In 2005, Michael released a slightly shorter version (57:57 versus 61:02) himself on CDR under the title "One Hour As Peyote". After closely listening to both "OHAPlant"…
Untitled
MINDBLOWING! The tracks on this CD were recorded between 2005 and 2006, yet the music seems to have surfaced from another time - completely isolated from influences of the current era. Dimpflmeier also seems to be an "assistant" to the unique and arcane instruments that he helped manifest. As he has stated, his instruments seem to be "autonomous - their own masters"... However, that is not to say that it doesn't require a form of mastery to successfully "collaborate" with such strange ins…
Gelbe Musik Editions 1999 - 2000
An amazing re-issue of three extremely rare and highly sought-after CDRs only made available during exhibitions curated by Ursula Block's Gelbe MUSIK shop & gallery in Berlin, Germany: Akio Suzuki: '75.6.30. Akio Suzuki: Suzuki-Type Glass Harmonica "De Koolmees". Akio Suzuki: Tanabata. Because it has since been discovered that one of the discs was given a title based on a mistaken performance date ('75.6.30) and another was copied from an incorrect audio master (Tanabata) in addition to th…
Unit
A journey to the Chinese Qinghai province (Tibetan culture region of Amdo) was commissioned by the Goethe-Institut China. Its purpose was to experience the province and to produce art works to be presented at The Third Guangzhou Triennial, subtitled 'Farewell to Post-Colonialism' in the same year. The sound installation Unit and a series of photographs called Cutting Qinghai resulted from this journey, during which I took photographs and made audio recordings. The installation was presente…

Michelangelo Antonioni
The third (and perhaps final) project in the film director series which began with Andrei Tarkovsky - Another Kind Of Language and Yasujiro Ozu - Hitokomakura. Michelangelo Antonioni - Trilogy And Epilogue focuses upon the Italian auteur's landmark 'tetralogy' of films L'Avventura (1960), La Notte (1961), L'Eclisse (1962) and IlDeserto Rosso (1963). Antonioni was known for not being very keen to use music in his films, partially because he wanted the films to tell their stories free from 'add…

Luigi Turra is a musique concrete composer and graphic designer whose main interest is in the aural balance between silence and tactile perception of sound. A first version of Enso was originally released by Small Voices (Italy) in 2007, but the release suffered from peak-volume distortion due to being mastered too loud, plus the use of compression altered the sound of the work. Here, it is free from distortion and compression. Ancient Silence was originally self- released as a limited e…
Levitation and breaking points
Originally self-published as a very limited triple 3" CDR release in May, 2009, Celer's Levitation And Breaking Points is now available again on CD - this time limited to 300 copies. Our Rainy Season (49:12) 2. Nuilagi (25:54) The two pieces on this album reflect the sounds and the duality of the experiences of our rainy seasons. The first is an internal reflection sifted through memories. The second is a realization of the very music played by the people of Anaphoria to give thanks …

Galiola - Works For Radio, 1967- 2000
Over the last 40 years, Serbian radio-art composer and film director  Arsenije Jovanović has developed a deeply personal style of sound art for radio broadcast. His compositions are imbued with natural environments and human-centered activities. They feel rooted in place - whether real, imaginary, remembered or dreamed. Weaving voices, instruments, field recordings and manipulated sound, Jovanović creates vivid narratives without a story. He takes full advantage of sound’s capability for seamles…

Olivia Block: field recordings, piano, reed organ, editing and mixing. Kyle Bruckmann: oboe, English Horn, suona, accordion, field recordings, editing and mixing. Bruckmann and Block's creative relationship dates back to the recording of Block's 1999 release Pure Gaze, shortly after both artists entered into Chicago's vibrant experimental music community. Their decision to create a collaborative duo ensued, but remained in the realm of good intentions until shortly before Bruckmann's relo…

Ombrophilia
Tomoko Sauvage: water, porcelain bowls, hydrophones, condenser mics, metal wire and wood spoons. Sauvage, a Paris-based Japanese musician, uses water-filled porcelain bowls for her electro-acoustic performances and compositions. The use of hydrophones (underwater microphones) allows her to capture the subtle sound of water waves and drops resonating in porcelain bowls. The serene, contemplative aquatic soundscape is woven from these fragile materials. Her first solo album, Ombrophilia will be r…
