Double Cut
*2023 stock* The second of two collaborations involving Moebius and Gerd Beerbohm, Double Cut sounds miles away from the relatively harmless electronic/pop experiments of solo work by Moebius or Cluster. Consisting of only four extended tracks, the album expresses the dark side of electronics courtesy of the repetitive trance-state on "Hydrogen" and "Minimotion." Double Cut is much closer to electronic inheritors in the experimental and techno fields than Moebius' usual new age pursuits.

The instrumentation is minimal with origins in the Selbstportrait series, with sound effects backing the Farfisa organ. Harald Grosskopf is best known as drummer in the band Ashra and for Klaus Schulze ("Moondawn") and as an electronic musician. Following "Synthesist" (1980, see below), "Oceanheart" was his second solo album. It may sound like a child of the 1980s, but in a compositional sense it is related to the Berliner Schule / Berlin School of the 70's.
