1980 cult horror film soundtrack to the Don Dohler film “Fiend”. Synth horror film score by Paul Woznicki. An evil spirit possesses the corpse of a diseased man, Mr. Longfellow, must absorb the life energy of the living, in order for the corpse not to rot away.
Fiend was scored over a weekend without sleep in the Dohler families basement. Woznicki recorded the films music on a Niagara field recorder under the direction of Don Dohler, totally improvised as the movie played in real time. The film’s music ranges from elegant piano pieces to dark and unnerving tracks played on a combination of synthesizers, as well as modified toys, that give this soundtrack its distinctive atmosphere.
