La Morte Young (what a name !) is a supergroup, as people said in the seventies, but without any real stars. LMY includes every members of Nappe, Sun Stabbed and Talweg. If the blues was the background of many of the supergroups from the past, here it's more The Dead C or the dark side of Sonic Youth which are the most obvious influences (velocity and dexterity, move on). A first eponymous album composed of fives tracks that have their names borrowed from jazz, where you can find some long form NZ style free-noise suite on the A side whereas the B side is overflown by raw power, recalcitrant savagery, beginning with an astonishing concentrated cold fury and ending with a beautiful collapse of the noisy architectures. A kind of mutant interstellar rock with the sleeve made from watercolours by Michael Morley. Again it can shows the filiation. A 180 grs vinyl that wouldn't bear comparison if it was in the famous Sonic Youth Records collection. An "Invito al cielo" in a way : mackerel sky or leaden sky, it all depends."
