**Exact LP repro edition. Limited Edition of 200 copies, remastered sound.** Although he was one of Italy’s leading jazz musicians, playing the piano at an international level in a mainstream style, it is probable that Romano Mussolini owed some of his fame to also being the third son of the Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. A common idea that everyone had before listening to his music, and discovering the importance he always gave to every musician who had the opportunity to play and grow artistically beside him. Romano was only 17 years old when his father was executed. Amazingly, his father’s last words to him were “Keep playing.” as he sat in front of a piano. Following his passion for music and his father’s final words, Romano fell in love with jazz music in the 50s and ended up leading one of Italy’s most successful jazz bands. In 1973 the Romano Mussolini Trio released Mirage and released the following year, with the artistic production of Piero Montanari. The record was recorded in Milan in the Basilica, a recording studio owned by Pdu label. Besides Romano Mussolini on the Fender piano, Piero Montanari on the electric bass and Roberto Spizzichino on the drums, we also have Glauco Masetti on sax, Emilio Soana on trumpet and the legendary Tullio De Piscopo on percussion. The album has since become a treasure for many jazz collectors, don't miss this one.
