*55 copies limited edition* Recorded in June-July of 2021, “Mirror of Simple Souls” is a selection of acousmatic noise compositions inspired by the writings of 13th-century mystic & heretic Marguerite Porete. The suite’s 4 pieces were produced through an array of analog and digital methods, including sampling/resampling on various 4-track recorders, heavy use of digital and tape cut-ups, and effects processing with Max MSP.
“Sforza Gramsci” is a moniker used by Ollie Turbitt, a Scottish experimental musician living in Northern Italy. His work is continuously informed and inspired by explorations of cultural memory, false consciousness and mysticism/esotericism.
