*100 copies limited edition* The sixth issue in the U Jazz Me catalog is an album by the jazz super group Late Night Poems, which has already appeared on wax with the U Know Me Records logo in 2022. Imagine a jazz club straight out of New York in the 1990s. Imagine a jazz club in one of Poland's medium-sized working-class cities, which has been operating continuously for 45 years, driven and run by one tireless man. The greatest from the country and the world have played there. They stare at you from the walls. The jazz in the air there could be cut with a knife.
After 10 hours of driving, I descend into familiar surroundings and feel at home. We do an intensive evening rehearsal. I check which lyrics resonate best with my colleagues' music. The next day, the club turns into a recording studio and among these walls that have seen so much, we record an album in just over 4 hours. Some of us met and played together for the first time. We were together that day, we played together, and good jazz spirits were on our side. The word was carried with the music. Above us, Gorzów was bustling with everyday, regular life, and beauty was being forged in the Jazz Club "Pod Filarami". It is not the first and not the last time, but for the first time in 45 years of history, a captured moment is presented in the form of a vinyl record. It could not have happened anywhere else.
The recordings were made on February 22, 2024 at the Jazz Club "Pod Filarami" in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland.
