Music in Crisis
Roberta Settels' only record, self-released in 1985 after Caprice backed out over its politics: four pieces of pure analog tape music, sine waves and white noise, including an elegy for Ulrike Meinhof. Reissued in a silk screened plastic sleeve, 250 copies.
Voice is the original instrument
For Circular Song she adapted circular breathing to the voice and sang on the inhale as well as the exhale. For Hear What I Feel she was isolated beforehand, then performed with her eyes taped shut, responding to materials placed in front of her that she could not see.
