Alan Braufman

Alan Braufman (born 1951 in Brooklyn) is an American alto saxophonist, flutist and composer who came out of the New York loft jazz scene of the early 1970s. After studying at Berklee he moved to New York in 1973 and shared a loft at 501 Canal Street with other musicians. He is known for Valley of Search (India Navigation, 1975), a spiritual free jazz record made in that loft with pianist Cooper-Moore. Valley of Search was the second release of Bob Cummins's India Navigation label and the recording debut of Cooper-Moore; Cecil McBee, David Lee and Ralph Williams also play on it.
