Ame Son

Ame Son is a French psychedelic group that grew out of the circle around Daevid Allen at the end of the 1960s. Its best-known record is Catalyse, an album recorded in London and issued in the Actuel series of the Paris label BYG. The music mixes psychedelic rock with free jazz improvisation, and reviewers have compared it to early Gong. Drummer and singer Marc Blanc and Patrick Fontaine both played in Daevid Allen's first Banana Moon line-up, the group that later became Gong. They formed Ame Son with flautist François Garrel and guitarist Bernard Lavialle.
