Conny Plank

Conny Plank (1940-1987), born Konrad Plank in Hütschenhausen, was a German record producer, sound engineer and musician. Working from a studio on the outskirts of Cologne and elsewhere, he shaped much of the German experimental rock of the 1970s, producing or engineering records by Kraftwerk, Neu!, Cluster and Harmonia, and later worked with new wave and pop acts. He died of cancer in 1987. Plank started out as a sound engineer and built his own mixing desk with Peter Lang and Michael Zähl.
