Fief

Fief is the dungeon synth project of an anonymous musician based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Its music is melodic and calm rather than dark, with synthesizer lines that recall lyre or harpsichord and a pastoral, medieval mood. Fief belongs to fantasy synth, the gentler branch of the dungeon synth scene, and issues its albums under plain Roman numerals. Fief's albums run from I to VII, released through its own Bandcamp page together with reissues and the single Moonbeams in the Vestibule b/w Portcullis. A 2017 review of III stressed its folk character and forest atmosphere.
