Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa (1940-1993) was an American composer, guitarist and bandleader, born in Baltimore. He led the Mothers of Invention and produced nearly all of the more than 60 albums he released with the group and under his own name, mixing rock, jazz, satire and orchestral writing. He is known for records such as Freak Out!, Hot Rats and Joe's Garage, and for his later concert music. Frank Zappa released Freak Out! with the Mothers on Verve in 1966, followed by We're Only in It for the Money (1968) and Uncle Meat (1969), the first Mothers album on his Bizarre label.
