Face To Face
The perfect foils for each other, German saxophonist Urs Leimgruber and French AKS sysnthesist Jean-Marc Foussat are heard in two complete concerts, one at the WIM in Zurich and one at the Kunsthalle in Lucerne, both exploring sound, timbre, momentum and atmosphere through extended techniques and extreme playing, and an amazing display of soundscape and sonic force.
Surface Calme
A 5-part work of improvisations on keyboards, voice, guzheng and flute from French improviser Jean-Marc Foussat and Bao Luo (Beijing Talking), a mysterious album of nocturnal sounds, grand expressions, furtive language, and rich textures and timbres, as Bao Luo provides a guiding voice in song and speach to their beguiling dialog; an exotic and expressive album.
Entrée Des Puys De Grêle
The french electroacoustic improvising trio of synth player and engineer Jean-Marc Foussat (Fou Records) with the father/son pair of saxophonist Quentin Rollet (Workshop De Lyon) and drummer/percussionist Christian Rollet (Rectangle Records, Bisou), in a rich, intensifying and often enthusiastically exploding set of extended and masterful improvisations piano."Divided into two shorter and one over-long track, Entrée des Pays de grête reflects the, near-anarchistic spirit of 1968, but with enough…

Recorded May 13th 2015 The Paris Concert documents a historical private performance held in a 5th floor Paris apartment to an invited audience of 15 people. Substunce Sans Scrupule
"Substunce Sans Scrupule" is a dream. A hazy dream born in the emptiness between the words of "Igitur ou La folie d'Elbehnon" by Stéphane Mallarmé. A dream that sought Marcel Proust's lost time and constituted the light and the black void between the single frame of Gregory Markopoulos. It is the birth and the destruction of the work of art, primitivism and science."Substunce Sans Scrupule" is as much Georgios Karamanolaki's automatic writing on the work of Jean-Marc Foussat as Jean-Marc Foussat…
Abattage
Recorded in 1981 & issued “privately” in 1983 (on Jean Marc Foussat’s own Pyjama imprint) this is a screamer of a record, taking in a decidedly unique approach to minimal musique concrète assemblage (there’s an emphasis on presenting banal, interstitial in-situ sound-events [coughs, footsteps] that reminds of Luc Ferrari one minute ... before a sudden barrage of jackhammer-noise, plunderphonic mangling [is that ... Barbra Streisand !?!], and high-end oscillator scree takes over pushing this clos…
Dans les courbes
Xavier Camarasa : piano. Jean-Marc Foussat : AKS Synthi, voice. 2017.
L’homme approximatif
Jean-Marc Foussat, whose electronic universe owes a lot to Dada and Pataphysics, has decided to put Tristan Tzara's "L'Homme Approximatif" in music, with an astonishing LP, that features himself at Synthi AKS and voice, and Jamal Moss: flûtes, cordes, piano and Jean-François Pauvros vocals
Untitled
The Département d’Éducation Psychique group - Dynamo Dreesen and SVN : Andreas and Sven = DRESVN & Jean-Marc Foussat - was born in Paris June 25, 2014 in La Java, at a concert organized by Xavier Ehretsmann. The proposal of Xavier and our deep desire at all was to “mix” various networks for the unexpected meeting, improbable, surprising… of artists referenced “techno”, here DRESVN, with others from the “improvised music” in this instance Jean-Marc Foussat. And so as the duo DRESVN the German has…
L'oiseau
"A beautiful solo album by experimental electronician/multiinstrumentalist Jean-Marc Foussat. The album is clearly dedicated to his son Victor Foussat, a young poet and painter who died this year. One of his paintings his reproduced on the inner sleeve, and Jean-Marc recites a poem of his in-between the two 20-minute tracks that make up the album. I rarely cross paths with Foussat’s music, but each opportunity is a delight. The two pieces here are powerful amalgams of synths and objects. Foussat…
