Jessica Mayer

Jessica Mayer is a field recordist who worked with the anthropologist Ragnar Johnson in Yemen and in Papua New Guinea during the 1970s. Their recordings of ceremonial music, including the sacred bamboo flutes of the Madang region, were first issued on LP in the 1970s and have been reissued and expanded by Ideologic Organ since 2016. Jessica Mayer and Ragnar Johnson are credited as recordists on Music from Yemen Arabia: Samar, published by Lyrichord in New York in 1973.
