Born in Antwerp 1947, Joris De Laet is a musical autodidact, interested in avantgarde and experimental music in general. IN 1973, he started SEM (Studio voor Experimentele Muziek / Studio for Experimental Music) to organize concerts on different locations. In 1974, the SEMensemble was created to present the post-production techniques to a live audience.

Through 'Experimental & Parametric Music 1976-2017', more than 40 years of the Joris De Laet's work are unveiled.
