Kremerata Baltica

Kremerata Baltica is a chamber orchestra founded in 1997 by the Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer, who is still its artistic director. Its musicians come from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and the orchestra started as an educational project supported by the three Baltic governments. It tours across Europe, Asia and the Americas and has premiered works by Arvo Pärt, Giya Kancheli, Pēteris Vasks and Leonid Desyatnikov, among others. Kremerata Baltica won a Grammy in 2002 for After Mozart (Nonesuch, 2001).
