Loscil

Loscil is the recording name of Scott Morgan, an electronic and ambient musician based in Vancouver. Morgan started the project in 1998, taking the name from the looping oscillator function of the Csound programming language. His records are slow, droning pieces built from electronics and occasional live instruments, and most of them have been released by the Chicago label Kranky. Morgan studied computer music and composition with Barry Truax at Simon Fraser University and played drums in the Vancouver band Destroyer.
