Lucio Battisti

Lucio Battisti (1943-1998) was an Italian singer, songwriter and producer born in Poggio Bustone, Lazio. Battisti made a long series of hit albums in the 1970s with the lyricist Mogol, and later worked with Pasquale Panella on more oblique records. From the late 1970s he gradually withdrew from public life, stopped giving interviews and spoke to his listeners only through his records. Battisti debuted on Ricordi with Lucio Battisti (1969).
