Marco Cappelli
Marco Cappelli was born in Naples and studied classical guitar at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, then in Basel, where he took the Konzert-Diplom with Oscar Ghiglia. Active since the mid-1990s in contemporary music, improvisation and jazz, he co-founded Ensemble Dissonanzen and leads the Marco Cappelli Acoustic Trio (formed 2009), Italian Surf Academy and IDR-Italian Doc Remix. He lives in New York and teaches at Columbia University. He has worked with Marc Ribot, Elliott Sharp, Butch Morris and Enrico Rava. Les Nuages en France (2011) is the Acoustic Trio album inspired by Fred Vargas.
