Mathias Eick

Mathias Eick is a Norwegian trumpeter and composer, born in 1979. He leads his own quartet and was for many years a member of Jaga Jazzist, and he is best known for the albums he has made under his own name for ECM. Besides trumpet he plays double bass, vibraphone, piano and guitar. Mathias Eick made his ECM debut as a leader with The Door (2008), followed by Skala (2011), Midwest (2015), Ravensburg (2018), When We Leave (2021) and Lullaby (2025).
