Melvins

Melvins are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington, by guitarist and singer Buzz Osborne. They began as a hardcore punk group and slowed down into heavy, sludgy riffs, and they are counted among the founders of sludge metal. Their sound fed into early grunge, and over the years they have moved through noise rock, drone and experimental work, with Osborne and drummer Dale Crover as the constant core. The first line-up was Osborne, Matt Lukin and Mike Dillard, and Crover replaced Dillard in 1984.
