Michael Scott Dawson

Michael Scott Dawson is a Canadian guitarist and sound artist from Saskatchewan. His ambient records are built from guitar, tape loops and field recordings, with bird sounds among the recurring sources, and they carry a pastoral, rural feeling. He began releasing solo albums in 2020 and has since put out a new LP almost every year, most of them on the Toronto label We Are Busy Bodies. Dawson made his solo debut with Nowhere, Middle Of (2020), a record centred on synthesizer, and followed it with Music for Listening, which mixes guitar, found sounds and birdsong.
