My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine are a rock band formed in Dublin in the early 1980s by guitarist and singer Kevin Shields and drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig. They are counted among the founders of shoegaze, and their records for Creation, above all Isn't Anything (1988) and Loveless (1991), set walls of distorted, bending guitar against soft, half-buried vocals. Bassist Debbie Googe joined soon after, and singer and guitarist Bilinda Butcher in 1987. The first EP, Geek!, came out on Fever in 1985 and was paid for by the band.
