Nikolaienko

Nikolaienko is the project of Dmytro Nikolaienko, a Ukrainian sound artist from Dnipro who founded the Kyiv label Muscut in 2012. He builds sound collages from tape and cassette loops made on outdated equipment such as reel-to-reel machines and tape players. After years in Kyiv and Tallinn he was living in Amsterdam in 2024. Nikolaienko released Rings on Jan Jelinek's Faitiche label in 2021. He made Nostalgia Por Mesozóica with studio synthesizers processed through tape loops, and he recorded Meta, a Muscut tape, with only a metallophone and a four-track tape recorder.
