Nocturnal Emissions

Country: United Kingdom

Nocturnal Emissions is the sound project of the British artist Nigel Ayers, started in the late 1970s with Danny Ayers and Caroline K and run mostly as his solo work since 1984. Its music moves between industrial, noise, dub, musique concrète, sound collage and dark ambient. Its early albums appeared on its own Sterile Records, among them Drowning in a Sea of Bliss (1983). Nocturnal Emissions founded Sterile Records, a label drawing on Fluxus, conceptual art and punk, and Nigel Ayers later replaced it with Earthly Delights.
