Paul Koonce

Paul Koonce (born 1956) is an American composer of electroacoustic music. He studied composition at the University of Illinois and the University of California, San Diego, where he took his Ph.D. He has taught at Moorhead State University, Princeton and the University of Florida, where he is professor emeritus. His work deals with representation and perception in electroacoustic sound, often starting from everyday recorded sounds. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1999-2000. The Mode disc Walkabout & Back collects Walkabout (1998), Hothouse, Pins and The Flywheel Dream.
