Pauline Anna Strom (1946 to 2020) was an American electronic composer and synthesist, best known under the name Trans-Millenia Consort. Born blind, she navigated the world on an auditory plane and related to it through her other senses, and from a home studio in San Francisco in the early 1980s she made a series of private-press albums of gentle, otherworldly synthesizer music, imagining ancient civilisations and future worlds. Long forgotten, her work was reissued in 2017 on the anthology Trans-Millenia Music and found a devoted new audience.
