Penza Penza

Penza Penza is a band project led by Estonian composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Misha Panfilov, one of several names under which he records. Its music mixes fuzz guitar, funk, garage rock and psychedelia, and its records come out on the Detroit label Funk Night Records. Penza Penza released the single Merman / Jaw Drop on Funk Night and the stomping album Neanderthal Rock. Electricolorized (2023), which opens with Deep Dive, added easy listening, 1960s French chanson and jazz-funk in the manner of David Axelrod. Alto E Primitivo followed in 2024.
