Pierre-Yves Macé
Pierre-Yves Macé is a French composer, born in 1980. His music moves between chamber writing, electroacoustic composition and sound art, and it often takes recorded sound, documents and archives as its raw material. He is also a musicologist, and his book Musique et document sonore grew out of his doctoral thesis. Macé studied piano and percussion at the Rennes Conservatory, taught himself composition and earned a doctorate at Paris VIII in 2009. His first CD, Faux-Jumeaux, came out on Tzadik in 2002, and Segments et Apostilles followed there in 2013.
