Raymond Boni
Raymond Boni is a French guitarist, harmonica player, improviser and composer, born in 1947. He learned the guitar from Roma musicians and the playing of Django Reinhardt, then took that technique into free improvisation in the 1970s. He is best known for his long partnership with American multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee. Boni co-founded Association vivante with percussionist Bertrand Gauthier, and his solo album L'oiseau, l'arbre, le béton came out on Futura Marge in 1971. With McPhee and saxophonist André Jaume he made Tales and Prophecies (1980) and Oleo (1982) for Hat Hut.
