Speed, Glue & Shinki
Speed, Glue & Shinki was a Japanese psychedelic hard rock trio formed in 1970 by guitarist Shinki Chen and producer Ikuzo Orita, with bassist Masayoshi Kabe and Filipino singer and drummer Joey Smith. The band was active only until 1972 and recorded for the Japanese branch of Atlantic. It is known for its debut album Eve (1971), which found a cult following long after the group split. Orita, who ran Atlantic in Japan, had produced Chen's solo album and brought him to the label. Kabe left during the sessions for the second album and was replaced by bassist and singer Mike Hanopol.
