Takahiro Kawaguchi

Country: Japan

Takahiro Kawaguchi is a Japanese sound artist, born in Osaka in 1980. He began working with field recordings in 2000, with an interest in how sound is shaped by a particular space rather than in the sounds of a place as such. He builds sound-producing devices from everyday objects and uses them, together with light, in site-specific performances and installations. Kawaguchi is a member of The Great Triangle with Makoto Oshiro and Satoshi Yashiro, a trio that shows performances and exhibitions in galleries and festivals in Japan and abroad.
