Ted De Jong

Ted de Jong is a Dutch tabla player trained in Hindustani classical music. He has worked with Indian classical musicians and in Western ambient and fusion projects. His recordings with Klaus Wiese include El-Hadra - The Mystik Dance, made with Wiese and Mathias Grassow and reissued by Infinite Fog. De Jong studied tabla with Ustad Latif Ahmed Khan and Ustad Faiyaz Khan, and also studied sitar and Agra gharana vocal music. In the early 1980s he played percussion in the Dutch group Flairck.
